Winter Storm Warning For Most Of Michigan

Winter Storm Warning For Most Of Michigan

So far, we only have a light covering of snow, and there is nothing happening at this time.  My area is right on the line between snow and ice, so we aren’t certain yet what to expect.  Our generators are ready to go just in case, and the latest forecast doesn’t sound good.  Regardless, we aren’t planning to go anywhere today as the local weather gurus are warning that travel late today will be impossible.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t look  now like it will get as warm tomorrow as originally predicted, so the ice may stay with us longer than expected.  I guess we’ll deal with whatever happens since we don’t have much choice.

Our 10 AM temperature is 29°F (-2°C), the humidity is 79%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the east at 6-9 mph, and the dew point is 22°F (-6°C).  The barometer is at 29.97 in (1015 mb) and steady, and visibility is 10 miles.  The wind chill is 22°F (-6°C).  Yesterday’s high was 36°F (2°C) and the overnight low was 26°F (-3°C).  Average temps for this date are 35°F / 18°F.  Record temps for Feb 21 are 65°F / -5°F.  Sunrise was at 7:25 AM and sunset will be at 6:17 PM.
