Cleanup After The Storms – Mid Michigan

Cleanup After The Storms – Mid Michigan

There was a lot of damage from Thursday night’s storms.  There were six confirmed tornadoes just in the Detroit area.  Then there were two in Livingston County and another near Grand Rapids.  The weather forecast for Thursday called for severe thunderstorms, and they weren’t kidding.  We were lucky.  No loss of power or any other damage to our property.   We received over two inches of rain Thursday and now the lawn is like a sponge.  We are expected to have a dry period this week although we could get some light rain today.  As for myself, I’m ready for a week of sunshine.  Temperatures are supposed to be very comfortable this week and I’m loving that.

Our 11:45 AM temp is 68°F (20°C), the humidity is 85%, and skies are overcast.  The dew point is 60°F (16°C), and the pressure is 30.04 in (1017.3 mb) and rising.  Visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 76°F (24°C) and the overnight low was 61°F (16°C).  Average temps for this date are 79°F/57°F.  Sunrise was at 6:55 AM and sunset will be at 8:24 PM.  The Air Quality Index is good at 13, and the UV Index is low at 2.
