Frigid Temps Continue . . . .

Frigid Temps Continue . . . .

It was 1 degree when I got up this morning, and it hasn’t warmed up significantly since then.  The sun is trying to peek out but a thin cloud cover remains.  At least we don’t have the strong winds today so it is a bit more bearable.  I hate the cold more than the snow, and the south isn’t being spared either.  This mass of arctic air can’t move on soon enough to suit me.

Our 3 PM temperature is 12°F (-11°C), the humidity is 79% and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 3-9 mph and the wind chill is 0°F (-18°C).  The dew point is 4°F (-16°C) and the pressure is 30.02 in (1016.6 mb) and falling.  Visibility is 7 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 17°F (-8°C) and the overnight low was -4°F (-16°C).  Average temps for this date are 30°F/16°F.  The record high for Jan. 14 is 55°F (13°C) set in 1985, and the record low is -16°F (-27°C) set in 1893.  Sunrise was at 8:06 AM and sunset will be at  5:27 PM.
