Cloudy And Damp . . . .

Cloudy And Damp . . . .

It has been a dreary, chilly day on our last day on Eastern Standard Time.  Showers moved in yesterday around 1 PM, and continued well into the overnight.  There was 0.71″ in my gauge this morning.  Tomorrow we jump ahead one hour and it will take me about a month to readjust to the time change.  I hate it!  They have been talking about getting rid of DST for at least 10 years now but it never happens.  I’ve given…

Rain On The Way . . . .

Rain On The Way . . . .

Radar is showing a large rain mass heading our way, and it is moving quite slowly.  I anticipate that it will be here in another hour or so, and that it will last most of our day.  Temperatures will continue to be mild today, then another cold front moves in and will last through the weekend.  Once again, like the past few weeks,  highs will reach into the 60s by mid week.  I’m hearing that temperatures will continue to be…

Another Cloudy Day . . . .

Another Cloudy Day . . . .

We should see highs in the 50s today once the sun comes out.  But for now, we have nothing but clouds.  We could see some rain tomorrow and Saturday, and temperatures will remain on the cool side.  Regardless, our highs will still reach above average for this time of year. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 73%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the east at 4-6 mph, and the pressure is 30.08 in (1018.6…

Cloudy, Windy, And Cold . . . .

Cloudy, Windy, And Cold . . . .

Our morning began with temperatures in the upper 30s, and a little fog.  We continue to have cloudy skies but it is supposed to become partly cloudy this afternoon.  Our temps won’t get very warm but still above average.  Another warmup will come at the end of the week and will bring more rain.  I’m hearing that the remainder of this month will bring more normal temperatures so spring weather isn’t here yet. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 40°F (4°C),…

Cooling Down With Rain . . . .

Cooling Down With Rain . . . .

Our morning began with showers and a few rumbles of thunder.  There was 0.25″ in my gauge at 8:30, and the rain continued a while after that.  Right now we have cloudy skies and the rain has stopped for now.  There is more in our forecast for this afternoon although no showers are appearing on radar at this time.  It was mild enough all night for my window to be open, and fresh air is always nice when you are…

Another Record To Be Broken . . . .

Another Record To Be Broken . . . .

We should see record high temperatures once again today.  The current record high is 70F, set back in 1974.  We’re expecting highs today in the mid 70s.  It already feels pretty warm out there and some windows are already open.  I love this weather but I hope that a huge cold spell doesn’t come and freeze all the fruit buds.  I also hope that this doesn’t result in more severe weather like it did last week. Our 12:45 PM temperature…

Temps On The Rise . . . . .

Temps On The Rise . . . . .

We have sun and very mild temperatures today.  We should see some clouds a little later, but no rain is in the forecast.  We continue to have a long stretch of unseasonably warm weather and I, for one, am enjoying it.  I’m hearing of massive snowstorms in the west, and am happy with what we have.   We could see record high temps again tomorrow, and I just hope that it doesn’t bring more severe weather with it. Our 12:30 PM…

Still Above Average . . . .

Still Above Average . . . .

This past month has felt like anything but winter.  It only snowed about three time enough to cover the ground, and then it didn’t last long.  Today is expected to reach into the mid 50s, and we could see the 70s once again on Monday.  This has certainly been a winter for all of those who hate winter . . . . . . at least so far.  I’m still thinking that we could get “the big one” yet this…
