We should start seeing our temperatures moderate a bit this week.  We may see highs in the upper 30s to low 40s by mid week.  Although it won’t be warm enough to melt much of our snow, at least it should clear bare surfaces as well as the roads.  A white Christmas is a certainty and that makes me happy.  We have 8 inches of snow cover this morning, and the extended forecast is not calling for more snow anytime snow.

Our 9:30 AM EST temperature is 24°F (-4°C),  the humidity is 80%, and skies are cloudy.  The pressure is 30.19 in (1022.1 mb) and falling.  Winds are from the east at 6 mph giving us a wind chill of 18°F (-8°C).  Visibility is 10 miles.  Sunrise was at 8:02 AM and sunset will be at 5:02 PM.   Yesterday’s high was 26°F (-3°C) and the overnight low was 18°F (-8°C).  The record high for Dec. 16 is 62°F (17°C) set in 1984, and the record low is -6°F (-21°C) set in 1951.   Averages for this date are 31°F / 21°F.
