Today begins our transition from winter to spring, finally. Highs should reach the upper 50s and each day this week getting a little warmer. Yesterday was really nasty with rain mixed with a little snow falling most of the day. Making it even worse was the strong wind. It felt more like a day in March than early May. This is a weird beginning of May to say the least. We had rain showers yesterday that changed to snow flurries after dark. There has been no accumulations here, but Marquette had a full-blown blizzard yesterday. They now have close to 2 feet of snowpack. Yesterday brought a mix of rain and sun. We did have a few quick rain showers throughout the day, and the sun did manage to peek out a few times. All and all, it wasn’t a bad day. Our day is much different that what was predicted. We have partly cloudy skies and it seems good to see the sun. I was under the impression that today was going to be pretty much a washout. Today and tomorrow’s weather will be the best that we’ll see for awhile. So spending these two days outdoors is a great idea. Yesterday brought a few snow showers and was not a very pleasant day. There was also a few drops of rain, but no measurable amounts. I have seen snow flurries also this morning. Our temperatures continue to remain in the 40s which is about 20 degrees below where they should be. It isn’t going to get much better the remainder of this month, but the weather gurus are promising a big warm-up when May gets here. I sure hope so….
