Today began with a few drops of rain but not enough to even measure. Southern Michigan got hammered with heavy thunderstorms, measuring well over an inch in many places. A line of heavy, severe storms moved to the southeast, from Wisconsin, through Illinois and Ohio, and just brushed the southern counties of Michigan. After some overnight, much needed rain, our Tuesday is cloudy and very humid. We received 0.42″ overnight with a little thunder and lightning. All my kids were home for the weekend and we made a big fire last night in celebration of our country’s birthday. Yesterday was extremely hot here in Michigan with highs in the upper 90s. Much too warm for me. There was a huge fire in downtown Holly which destroyed about 4 buildings that I can see.
