Yesterday was quite wet and dreary but showers ended late. Today should bring a little sunshine but much colder temperatures. I think that our warm weather is over for the year. We had four lovely days this week, but every good thing must come to an end. The forecast for the weekend and next week sounds more like November than October. The trees are getting more color everyday, especially the yellows. We haven’t seen many reds yet and I hope they do develop. Monday was a beautiful day with sun all day long and just enough breeze to help dry the ground out a bit. Highs made it into the upper 60s, so it was quite pleasant. After a very wet start to our October, we are finally getting some fine autumn weather. This entire week is supposed to be dry with plenty of sun and normal temperatures. Yesterday was the first time that we had the furnace on all day. Temperatures only make it up to the mid 50s and the wind made it even colder. At least we didn’t get any rain. The system which brought record snowfall to Montana is now over us, and I guess we should just be happy that we are getting rain and not snow. It started raining yesterday morning and continued throughout the night. The rain yesterday was intermittent and not that heavy. Last night, however, was a different story.
