A Little Rain To Start Our Friday – Mid Michigan

A Little Rain To Start Our Friday – Mid Michigan

We have light rain this morning which is expected to end by the afternoon.  The weekend looks great with sun and mild temperatures.  Then we are told that it will get hot next week, with an extended period of 80 degree weather beginning mid-week.  I don’t think anyone is complaining about that.  In fact, some of us were wondering if it was ever going to happen.  The ground is saturated and the river is very high, so we need some…

Improvement In Our Weather Begins Today – Mid Michigan

Improvement In Our Weather Begins Today – Mid Michigan

We had light to moderate rain all day on Tuesday leaving us with 0.69 in total.  Skies remained cloudy all morning and have become partly cloudy since then.  Forecasts are calling for a major warm-up next week, with highs reaching into the 70s and 80s.  We’ve waited a long time for this and it certainly will be welcome.  I finally put my oriole and hummingbird feeders out today, thanks to a Facebook friend for the reminder.  I haven’t seen any…

Another Cloudy, Chilly Day – Mid Michigan

Another Cloudy, Chilly Day – Mid Michigan

We get one nice day, then a bunch of cloudy, cold days.  Temperatures are in the 50s, so I guess you can’t really call that cold, but it sure isn’t where it ought to be for early May.  I should be out cleaning out my flower beds, getting them ready for planting, and I just can’t get motivated.  Yesterday was quite nice early, then clouds moved in and we got some light rain.  There was only 0.02″ in my gauge…

A Little Sun And Much Warmer Temperatures – Mid Michigan

A Little Sun And Much Warmer Temperatures – Mid Michigan

After a dreary, cold, damp Saturday, our Sunday is turning out much better.  We had fog and a little drizzle this morning, but now the sky is showing signs of clearing, and we are getting a few peeks at the sun.  Temperatures have even made it into the mid 60s and that’s very welcome.  Rain remains in our forecast for later today and I’m hoping that it misses us.  It is a bit breezy but I don’t mind a bit…

Starting Out To Be A Very Nice Thursday – Mid Michigan

Starting Out To Be A Very Nice Thursday – Mid Michigan

Although our temperatures aren’t where they should be, it still has been a very nice morning.  There was a frost but since nothing is planted yet, there was no harm done.  The early spring flowers, which are in bloom, don’t seem to mind the frost.  There isn’t any precipitation expected today, so it’s a good day to be out and about.  The next few days, as well as the weekend, should be much warmer, and hopefully, the spring weather will…

Feels More Like Winter Than Late April – Mid Michigan

Feels More Like Winter Than Late April – Mid Michigan

It is now 1:30 pm and our temperatures haven’t even made it into the 40s yet.  I don’t think that they are going to.  Highs today are expected to reach the low 40s, and if the sun comes out, it just may happen.  Regardless, it’s much too cold for April 27.  Last year on this date, the temp reached 78°F. Yesterday was also cold and windy, which made it feel even colder.  We had a few sprinkles but hardly enough…

A Cloudy, Damp Tuesday For Mid Michigan

A Cloudy, Damp Tuesday For Mid Michigan

Compared to the last few days, today is miserable.  It is cold, damp, and windy.  We have had a few periods of sprinkles but no significant rainfall today.  We had a little rain yesterday but the temps were much warmer.  We still have another day like this before we will have a warm-up.  The National Weather Service is predicting a cooler than normal May for our part of the country.  That will leave a lot of uncertainty as when to…

Much Cooler After Sunday’s Storms – Mid Michigan

Much Cooler After Sunday’s Storms – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was another very warm although windy day.  Storms didn’t arrive until the evening, and we did receive a lot of rain but nothing severe.  There was a total of 1.10″ in my gauge this morning.  Today feels more like late March once again.  The next two days are expected to only see highs in the 40s.  That’s much too chilly for this time of year.  We get these teaser days and then back to the cold.  It’s hard to…

A Summer-Like Day In Mid Michigan

A Summer-Like Day In Mid Michigan

Today’s weather was a real treat with highs reaching the low 80s.  We had sun all day with a few scattered clouds here and there.  Clouds are on the increase now with possible showers moving in late tomorrow.  We received o.41″ of rain overnight but some areas got well over an inch.  There are a lot of flooded fields around and the farmers are hoping for a dry spell to happen soon. This upcoming week will be cooler than normal…

A Beautiful Start To Our Friday – Mid Michigan

A Beautiful Start To Our Friday – Mid Michigan

Although we have rain in the forecast for this afternoon and tonight, this morning is lovely with plenty of sun and mild temperatures.  Our daily highs have been a bit below average but this weekend will make up for it.  We can expect temperatures to reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees both Saturday and Sunday.  Unfortunately, that leaves us open for the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms on Sunday.  Next week is expected to be a bit…
