More Snow On The Way For Mid Michigan
A local meteorologist just said that we will be getting more snow tonight and could possible have some moderate accumulation by late tomorrow. This seems be be happening almost every day. The snow should begin sometime tonight and continue into tomorrow. Two to four inches is a possibility for my area. So driving tomorrow could be a challenge. Looks like the snow shovel will be busy Our 5:30 pm temperature is 30F (-1C), the humidity is 86% and winds are…
A Snowy Sunday For Mid Michigan
We have light snow falling at this time and now the forecast is calling for up to 2 inches of snow for us. Yesterday was bright and sunny and I think that will have to do us for awhile. The sun is rather scarce this time of year and we sure do appreciate it when we get it. Temps will be a little warmer today and light winds will make it more comfortable to be out and about. Our 11:45…
A Beautiful, Glorious Sunny Saturday In Mid Michigan
Although temperatures are very cold, the sun is bright and it raises one’s spirits just to look outdoors. It was only 10F when I got up this morning and it has since warmed into the upper 20s. Unfortunately it won’t last long. There are several weather systems heading our way. The first should arrive tomorrow and could drop a couple inches of snow. The second one is more potent, but last reports indicate that it should remain to our south. …
More Clouds, Snow Flurries For Our Friday – Mid Michigan
We had sun almost all day on Thursday which was a welcome sight. Today, we are back with clouds and light snow once again. We are still not hearing much about this impending winter storms. Right now, it looks like we will get 1-3 inches from the first one, but the second, and strongest storm may stay just to our south. It does look like the Detroit area and southern Michigan will feel the brunt of that one. Yesterday made…
A Possible Winter Storm Heading In Our Direction – Mid Michigan
Yesterday was cloudy, but we had some clearing late giving us this beautiful sunset. Today has been sunny with a few clouds, and temps are quite mild. Unfortunately, winds are very strong making it very cold indeed. I received a text message from AccuWeather stating that we are in a line expecting a substantial snow event beginning this weekend and into early next week. There are two storms heading this way, and the first is expected to bring about 1-3…
Another Snowy, Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan
This is about the 4th day that we’ve had these exact weather conditions. Occasional snow squalls from lake effect keep dropping about an inch to two everyday. It isn’t much but just enough that we have to keep cleaning off the cars and deck. The one difference is that today is very cold compared to what we have had. Highs were supposed to reach the upper 20s and I don’t think we are going to make it. In addition, we…
Another Cloudy Day With A Few Snow Showers Expected – Mid Michigan
Today is just another much like the past 3-4. Cloudy skies with occasional light snow showers happening every so often. It’s really getting boring. I wish it would either clear up and be sunny, or bring us a good snowstorm. Our temperatures will be somewhat cooler and closer to normal over the next few days. There is no real snow accumulations expected except the usual one quarter to one half of an inch. We do have sun in the forecast…
More Clouds And Light Snow For Our Sunday
Our morning was snowy, but now the snow showers have stopped. I’m estimating that we received about half an inch but most has melted already. It’s strange how the weather just isn’t changing from day to day, with conditions and temperatures almost the same as the day before. Our temperatures are expected to continue over the upcoming week at slightly above normal and not much sun is expected. This has been a very unusual and dry winter so far. Usually,…
Another Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan
Temperatures will start going down this upcoming week, but will continue to be slightly above normal. Yesterday brought us about an inch of very wet snow which accumulated to about an inch. Most had melted by evening, however. Today, we will be lucky to reach the freezing mark. We continue to have about an inch and a half of snow cover, or maybe I should say ice cover. The existing snow is crunchy from the thaw yesterday. We could still…
