Although temperatures reached the low 40s yesterday, we didn’t lose much snow cover. I’m seeing more bare spots but the snow is still measuring about 2 inches where it remains. Yesterday was a mix of sunny and cloudy periods and it was quite nice although on the breezy side. Today will bring much of the same but we will see a mix of rain and snow moving in tonight. It began as rain in the afternoon, then changed to snow by early evening. Just when we thought that we were spared from the freezing rain, it changed to freezing rain. By nightfall, it was heavy to moderate snow again. It was wet and heavy, and made for a beautiful snow-covered night with it clinging to everything. Today began very cold with temps in the teens and we’ll be lucky to see the freezing mark today. At least we don’t have strong winds to contend with. Yesterday was a sad day for us.
