Stormy Weather Continues in Mid Michigan

Stormy Weather Continues in Mid Michigan

Yesterday was quite tranquil until late afternoon.  We then began to see storms develop with even a tornado warning in the Jackson area.  I haven’t heard of any damage or actual tornadoes however.  We had a couple of thunderstorms move through early this morning giving us total of 0.54″ of precip for the day.  Today continues to see the possibility of more storm development and very warm temperatures.  Highs are expected to reach the mid to upper 80s with continued humidity and high dew points.  The kids are all home for the holiday weekend and we planned on having a cookout and campfire tonight.  I don’t know if mother nature will cooperate.

Our 9:45 AM temperature is 70°F (21°C), the humidity is 100%, and winds are from the south at 5 mph.  The pressure is 30.11 in and falling.  The dew point is 71°F (22°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  Skies are mostly cloudy.  Yesterday’s high was 83°F (28°C) and the overnight low was 69°F (21°C).   Averages for this date are 80°F / 56°F.  The record high for Sept. 2 is 98°F set in 1953, and the record low is 37°F set in 1976.  No records will be challenged today.
