Finally, Some Much Needed Rain – Mid Michigan

I was very happy to see rain on the radar this morning and it is raining quite hard now as I post this.  There was only 0.02″ in my gauge from yesterday even though most areas received more than that.  We seemed to be on the edge of every storm that came our way.

I haven’t been able to blog the past week as we were up at our campground, and the WiFi there has been terrible.  The weather was much the same as here, too warm.  Our highs were in the upper 80s to low 90s everyday, which made it very hard to enjoy the outdoors.  On Tuesday, a storm passed very close and gave us quite a bit of thunder but only a few drops of rain.  We spent much of our time  at the in-law’s cabins on Lake Huron, where the temperature is always 5-10 degrees cooler than inland.  We also spent much time eating ice cream, something that I didn’t need, but it always seems irresistible on a hot day.  We’ll be going back up in a couple of weeks and hopefully, it won’t be as hot.

Our 9:45 AM temperature is 71°F (22°C), the humidity is 99%, and there are thunderstorms passing overhead at this time.  Visibility is 2 miles and the rain has let up a little right now.  Winds are from the west at 1-3 mph and the dew point is 69°F (21°C).  The pressure is 29.78 in (1008.5 mb) and rising.  Yesterday’s high was 92°F (33°C) and the overnight low was 69°F (21°C).  Average temps for this date are 82°F / 59°F.
