Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain For Our Friday – Mid Michigan

Thunderstorms began around 1:30 this morning and continued all night.  We had a brief reprieve around 8 AM, but now the rain has started up again.  There was 1.55″ in my gauge at 8 AM, but it has been raining steady since then.  My weather station is showing over 2 inches  in the past 48 hours, so I think that we have enough rain for awhile.

Our 9 AM temperature is 68°F (20°C), the humidity is 99%, and skies are overcast with rain and thunder.  Winds are from the ESE at 0-4 mph.  The pressure is 29.82 in (1009.8 mb) and rising.  The dew point is 68°F (20°C) and visibility is 7 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 88°F (31°C) and the overnight low was 68°F (20°C).  Sunrise was at 6:57 AM and sunset will be at 8:16 PM.

DURAND / OWOSSO FORECAST:

Today:  Thunderstorms with the possibility of some being severe.  High 78°F.  Winds SSW at 5-10 mph.  Chance of rain 100%.

Tonight:  Thunderstorms likely becoming more scattered overnight.  Some could be severe.  Low 66°F.  Winds SSW at 10-15 mph.  Chance of rain 80%.

Saturday:  Becoming mostly sunny.  High near 75°F.  Winds NW at 10-20 mph.
