A Mild First Day Of Winter For Mid Michigan

Our December weather continues to be mild and quite uneventful.  Highs today should remain in the mid to upper 30s with little precipitation in the forecast.  I’m hearing the latest forecast calling for a possible white Christmas for us and very cold temperatures.  We can now look forward to our daylight hours getting longer.  My husband wanted to smoke a ham on Christmas but I think it will be much too cold for that.  I can’t believe that Christmas is only a few days away.  It seems to come faster and faster every year.

Our 11:15 AM temp is 35F (2C), the humidity is 87% and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the SW at 2-10 mph giving us a wind chill of 30F (-1C).  The pressure is 29.56 in (1001.0 mb) and falling.  The dew point is 31F (-1C) and visibility is 7 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 37F (3C) and the overnight low was 33F (1C).  Average temps for this date are 33F / 23F.  Sunrise was at 8:04 AM and sunset will be at 5:04 PM.
