A Hot But Not Humid Thursday In Mid Michigan

I’m usually melting when temps get over 80F, but today is actually quite comfortable.  It’s probably because the humidity is so low.  We had clouds most of the day and that makes it feel cooler.  Now the sun is peeking out.  We received a letter from our power company that they will be charging more for electricity that we use during the day.  So we have tried to think of a system where the AC won’t be running constantly.  We are keeping windows and doors closed until the indoor temp reaches a certain point, then we’ll turn it on.  We do have good insulation and the house usually stays quite cool until mid afternoon without running the AC.  Of course, on days that are sunny with highs in the upper 80s to 90F, that probably won’t be possible.  We’ll give it a try anyway.

Our 4:45 PM temperature is 86°F (30°C), the humidity is 39%, and winds are from the southeast at 1-11 mph.    Skies are mostly cloudy.  The dew point is 52°F (11°C) and the heat index is 88°F (31°C).  Visibility is 10 miles.  The pressure is 30.03 in (1016.9 mb) and falling.  Yesterday’s high was 83°F (28°C) and the overnight low was 63°F (17°C).  Average temps for this date are 69°F / 46°F.  Sunrise was at 6:08 AM and sunset will be at 8:57 PM.
