A Lovely Friday After The Storms

A Lovely Friday After The Storms

Although I was up in Traverse City yesterday, I heard about the storms which rolled through southern Michigan.  One car dealership in Davison had every car on his lot damaged by baseball-sized hail.  Other areas had wind damage although I haven’t heard the extent of it.  My son was home and said that there were winds so strong that it blew my rain gauge sideways.  Luckily, he spotted it right away and went out and straightened it.  Gust’s up to 70 mph were reported.  Port Huron was one of the hardest hit and many in the Detroit area are still without power.  As for us, we saw intermittent hard rain storms as we traveled from Cheboygan to Traverse City but didn’t see any wind damage.  We spent the day with a longtime friend that we haven’t seen in years, so we had a great day in spite of the rain.

Our 6:45 PM temperature is 81°F (27°C), the humidity is 51%, and skies are clear, and winds are from the NW at 1-4 mph.  Visibility is 13 miles and the dew point is 52°F (11°C).  The pressure is 29.95 in (1014.2 mb) and falling.  Yesterday’s high was 80°F (27°C) and the overnight low was 61°F (16°C).  Average temps for this date are 82°F/60°F.  Sunrise was at 6:17 AM and sunset will be at 9:10 PM.
