Sloppy, Wet Day . . . . .

Yesterday was fairly mild with drizzle, then it changed to snow later, and became a moderate snow shower by midnight.  Everything was covered with heavy, wet snow this morning, which is sticking to all the bushes and trees.  It is also quite windy, so not a comfortable day to be out and about.  I’m glad that we cancelled our trip to Detroit today since I’m hearing that the roads were pretty bad.  Our snow cover is about 1.5″ and there was  0 .78″ in my rain gauge melted down.

Our 12 noon temperature is 32°F (0°C), the humidity is 93%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the W at 5-15 mph, and the wind chill is 26°F (-3°C).  The dew point is 29°F (-2°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  The pressure is 29.31 in (992.6 mb) and rising.  Yesterday’s high was 37°F (3°C) and the overnight low was 29°F (-2°C).  Average temps for this date are 30°F/17vF.  The record high for Jan 9 is 56°F set in 1876, and the record low is -17°F set in 1977.  Sunrise was at 8:08 AM and sunset will be at 5:21 PM.
