Winter Storm Watch Starting Tomorrow . . .

Winter Storm Watch Starting Tomorrow . . .

We woke this morning to about 1.5″ of new snow, so now there is almost 3″ on the ground.  It was heavy and wet, so it stuck to everything.  It is just warm enough that some has melted and my boys were out cleaning off the deck in preparation for “the big one”.  At this time, I’m not seeing anything on radar that looks particularly menacing, but it could all change by tomorrow.  The worst is supposed to happen late tomorrow and into early Saturday.  Four to ten inches is what I’m hearing as possible amounts for my area.  It looks like we may be right on the line between rain and snow so that could make the difference.

Our 2:30 PM temperature is 34°F (1°C), the humidity is 95%, and winds are from the west at 0-4 mph.  Skies are overcast with snow flurries.  The dew point is 33°F (1°C), and the pressure is 29.62 in (1003.1 mb) and rising.  Visibility is 3 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 37°F (3°C) and the overnight low was 30°F (-1°C).  Average temps for this date are 30°F/16°F.  The record high for Jan 10 is 55°F set in 1975, and the record low is -18°F set in 1984.  Sunrise was at 8:08 AM and sunset will be at 5:22 PM.
