Winter Storm On The Way . . . . . .

Winter Storm On The Way . . . . . .

We are under a winter weather advisory rather than a warning, so it appears that we may not be affected as badly as originally thought.  That’s fine with me.  It sounds like the biggest issue will be the strong winds.  Gusts as high as 40 mph are possible and that could cause blizzard conditions.  Driving will be challenging no matter how much snow we get.  To make things worse, high temps early next week will be doing well to reach the teens, and we could see lows dropping below zero for the first time in two years.

Our 10 AM temperature is 33°F (1°C), the humidity is 92%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the east at 8-13 mph, and the wind chill is 25°F (-4°C).  The pressure is 29.70 in (1005.8 mb) and falling, and visibility is 7 miles. The dew point is 30°F (-1°C).  Yesterday’s high was 35°F (2°C) and the overnight low was 31°F (-1°C).  Average temps for this date are 30°F/16°F.  The record high for Jan. 11 is 63°F (17°C) set in 1890, and the record low is -18°F (-28°C) set in 1984.  Sunrise was at 8:07 AM and sunset will be at 5:23 PM.
