The Heat Continues in Mid Michigan

The Heat Continues in Mid Michigan

This morning is very muggy and warm.  Showers and thunderstorms moved across the state overnight but we received very little rain.  There was just a trace in my gauge this morning at 8:30, but another shower is passing as I write this.  I can’t say that we really need the rain although the ground does dry out quickly with the heat.  Our highs have been in the upper 80s the past 3 days, and with the high dew points and humidity, it hasn’t been very comfortable.    This upcoming week should bring us some relief.  We’ll be heading back up north on Wednesday and its usually a little cooler there.

Our 9:30 AM temp is 71.6°F (22°C), the humidity is 85% with the dew point at 69°F (20°C).  The heat index is 74°F (23°C).  The pressure is 29.83 in (1009.9 mb) and falling.  Visibility is 10 miles and winds are calm.  Yesterday’s high was 88°F (31°C) and the overnight low was 71°F (22°C).  Averages for this date are 81°F / 59°F.  The record high for July 21 is 99°F (37°C) set in 1934, and the record low is 47°F (8°C) set in 1947.
