Our morning began with dense fog and frost, but it didn’t last long after the sun came up. Temperatures were very cold overnight and recovery will only be into the mid 50s. Today may be the last of our warm fall days so we should take advantage of it and enjoy it. Highs in the 60s are expected today and tomorrow, but after that, it is expected to feel more like November. Usually by now, almost all the leaves are off the trees, but the maples are still hanging onto theirs. Today has been fairly nice with mild temps and light winds. The morning was a bit sunny but now more clouds have moved in. We are expecting a substantial warm-up over the weekend and into next week with highs reaching into the lower 60s. We had our first snow shower yesterday evening. It all melted on contact but I could see large, white flakes falling in my yard light. Today is Halloween and we finally have some decent weather for it. The past 4-5 Halloweens have been cold and rainy. We are finally seeing color on our trees after several very chilly nights. Yesterday was misty and gloomy all day. There was 0.03″ in my rain gauge and northern lights were supposed to be visible overnight.
