Yesterday, we were under a winter weather advisory which was to start at 3 PM. Mother Nature couldn’t wait, and light to moderate snow began to fall at around 10 AM. It didn’t stop until well after dark and there were many accidents on roads which became icy very quickly. My kids, who were here for the holiday weekend, had to go home to Detroit yesterday, and they said that cars were wiping out on the expressways which were a…
A winter weather advisory was issued early this morning from 3 pm until midnight. But the snow began around 10 am and has continued since then. My daughter and I had to go out, and coming home, the roads were really getting slick. My son and daughter had to go back home today, to the Detroit area. My son called a while ago saying that vehicles were wiping out on the freeway. I thought that the road crews would be…
Our day began with plenty of sun and milder temps than what we have had recently. Now we have had a few sprinkles and skies have become overcast. Our car temperature showed a high of 53°F when we were out and about, but now temperatures have begun to fall. Scattered light showers are showing on radar although nothing near us at this time. Rain is expected to move in later today, and continue throughout the night. Thanksgiving Day isn’t expected…
It’s actually pretty nice outdoors today in spite of the cold temperatures. Riding in the car, the sun felt very warm and we sure didn’t need the heater. The sky is perfectly clear and winds are very light. If one dresses warm, it’s a very nice day to enjoy the outdoors. Our 12:30 PM temperature is 34°F (1°C), the humidity is 53%, and winds are from the west at 4-9 mph. The dew point is 18°F (-8°C) and the pressure…
Today is the coldest that we’ve had so far this season with highs only reaching into the 30s. With the wind, it feels even colder. The sun gives a false impression of a lovely day, and it is to just look out the window. I wouldn’t want to be out there for long, however. We aren’t expected to see much warming over the next week although Thanksgiving Day could be wet. Our 2:45 PM temperature is 37°F (3°C), the humidity…
Today will not bring anything out of the ordinary for a November day. We have clouds and there is a chance for some showers. Radar is showing some in the area but I haven’t noticed any raindrops yet. Last year on this day, our ground was white, so I guess we shouldn’t complain. Thanksgiving Day is sneaking up on us and I can’t say that I’m ready. My knee is still giving me a lot of problems and I’m not…
We think of November in Michigan as being cold and cloudy, and that’s exactly what we have today. There’s just enough wind to make it feel even more chilly, but at least there is no snow on the ground. There isn’t any precipitation in the forecast until possibly tomorrow and that is expected to come as rain. I’m seeing a few people already putting up their Christmas trees but mine will wait until early December. The days this time of…
To look out the window today, it looked beautiful, but temperatures barely made it out of the 30s. Skies were clear all day but now some clouds are appearing in the west. There is no rain expected until Sunday. Winds were light so it didn’t feel as cold as yesterday. The weekend may see temps moderating a little but no big warmups are expected. Our 5:10 pm temperature is 37°F (3°C), the humidity is 63%, and winds are calm. Skies…
Today will be the warmest that we’ll probably have for quite a while with highs expected near 60°F. Unfortunately, it’s also supposed to be quite wet although all we’ve had so far is a brief 2 minute shower. Radar is showing most of the rain to our north and heading in a easterly direction. I’m expecting more to develop later today. Yesterday was beautiful although highs were only in the low 40s. There was very little wind and lots of…
Our morning has been very pretty but very cold. It seems good to see the sun, something that we don’t have much of this time of year. Unfortunately, tomorrow sounds like it will be a washout, but at least it will be rain. Most of the leaves are now off the trees and colors here in southern Michigan were a disappointment this year. I think our temperatures were just too warm most of October, so we had to trade color…
