Yesterday we took a drive across the Mackinaw Bridge and it may be our last for quite a while. This will be our final year camping. We had storms move through the state early last night dropping 0.68″ in my rain gauge. Some areas in the southern part of the state got over two inches. We were briefly under a severe TS warning but it wasn’t that bad. The first hit between 7-8 PM, then the other one came about 11 PM. Our morning began with cloudy skies and fog. It has now cleared up and has become a very nice day. Temps are very warm but a significant breeze keeps it comfortable. It seems like our temperatures keep going from one extreme to the other. We’re in the low to mid 70s one week, then in the mid to upper 80s the next. Today we could actually reach 90 degrees and that’s definitely too hot for my liking. Even worse is the high humidity and dew point. Yesterday’s drive home was pleasant and we had good weather all the way. Today should be dry with typical August temperatures in the low 80s.
