Mid Michigan Weather

Yesterday was pleasant and rain free until the late afternoon.  A line of thunderstorms developed and moved over us giving us 0.17″ of rain.  After that, there was partial clearing which resulted in a beautiful, bright orange sunset.  More showers came overnight and continued through most of this morning.  Right now, the rain has stopped but clouds persist.  Temperatures are near normal for this date and they are expected to remain so most of this upcoming week. We are being warned that our weather could get pretty rough tonight and early tomorrow.  Right now, our skies are clear but it is quite windy.  Oklahoma got hit pretty hard yesterday but I haven’t heard how much damage was done.  Hopefully, we are spared tonight.  Our temperatures were very warm overnight and highs today are expected to reach the low to mid 80s.  We turned on the AC and this is the first time I ever remember doing that…

Yesterday was mostly wet with multiple showers and thunderstorms passing us by.  We got one cloud burst in the afternoon, and then a thunder shower during the evening.  We received 0.33 inches of rain from both, but some areas in Oakland County got 3-4 inches.  There was a flash flood warning for them briefly.  At least there were no severe storms  this time.  We still have rain in our forecast for this afternoon and tonight.  We had fog early this…

Today began with clouds, fog, and rain.  There is a low pressure center sitting over Lake Michigan producing this rainy weather, although we are still hanging on to much-above normal temperatures.  It seems like a day in early September rather than October.  We have received 0.28″ of rain since 8:30 yesterday morning and it looks like this will be the order of the day.  I’m hearing that temperatures could reach 80F by Sunday.  I wouldn’t complain if this lasted all…

This has been a dark and gloomy, wet day since the beginning.  The rain has been intermittent but with the humidity and high dew point, the air feels very wet even when the rain isn’t falling.  There were scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, and a tornado warning was even issued during the late afternoon for the Clarkston – Holly area.  No tornadoes were spotted however.  Forecasts called for an end to the rain this afternoon but I’m not seeing…
