After all the rain that we had during the early part of the week, the weather here is now perfect. Highs are in the low to mid 70s and just a nice breeze. We had thunderstorms pass overnight, but most missed my area. There was only 0.06″ in my gauge this morning although my weather station is showing multiple lightning strikes with the closest 17 miles away. The weather service is saying that our area could have severe weather today and tonight, so I’m hoping that it misses us also. I listened to our weather forecast on the 11 PM news last night, and there was a large mass of rain showing on radar over Wisconsin. It appeared to me that it was heading in our direction, but the meteorologist said that it would move to the north and my area would get very little if any of it. Wrong! We are seeing our temperatures rising a little more everyday with excessive heat expected next week. The heat index is expected to rise above 100 degrees one day. We’ll be up north and hopefully it won’t be that hot up there. Today is expected to be sunny with just a few passing clouds. Some areas could see some pop-up showers and thunderstorms however. Our wonderful summer weather continues with plenty of sun, low humidity, and warm temperatures. Unfortunately we have a heat wave coming with more highs in the 80s to near 90 degrees. Our morning temperatures started out in the 50s, and it was great sleeping weather last night. Today has been comfortably cool with plenty of sun. This is great weather and for me, it’s perfect. There was dense fog when I got up this morning with visibility less than a mile. That has dissipated but skies remain cloudy. We should see the sun later today with temps in the low to mid 80s. Today is our last day here for this trip. It rained most of Saturday but toward evening, the sky cleared and we even saw a little sun. Temperatures never got as warm as what was predicted and we were happy about that. Down state, however, there were many severe storms and even tornadoes.
