My heart goes out to those in Ohio and Indiana who are victims of the tornadoes last night. Michigan was lucky once again, and all we got was moderate to heavy rain. There is one lightning strike showing on my weather station, but it was 15 miles away. There was 0.40″ in my rain gauge this morning and most of the rain was done by early evening. Today will still be mild but I don’t think we’ll see much sun,…
The rain began around noon and has continued since then. Radar is showing that most has been to our north and south, but we have gotten 0.31″ so far. There is still a moderate, steady rain falling at this time. The rain should come to an end later tonight, and there is a very slight chance of severe weather up until early evening, but that is mainly for areas south of us. Our 4:15 PM temperature is 51°F, the humidity…
We have yet another great day weather-wise. We could see temperatures reaching very close to 70°F and there should be plenty of sun. The wind will be fairly light, so it will feel warm. Yesterday was nice except for the wind, and that made it feel colder than what the thermometer read. This will be our final nice day; rain will be moving in tomorrow and with it comes much cooler temperatures. High early next week will only rise into…
We have another great, sunny day and I just hope we don’t pay for this weather in April and May, when it’s supposed to be like this. This winter has been unbelievable for us and I almost feel like I spent winter down south, rather than in Michigan. Our highs have been constantly above average, and not just a little. I’m sure that we’ll be breaking another record today. Our 3:30 PM temperature is 71°F, the humidity is 32%, and…
We have returned to warm, sunny weather. Highs should reach the mid to upper 50s this afternoon, and we have more 60s coming over the next few days. This has been a remarkable winter for us. The most snowpack that we had was about 3 inches, and that melted in a few days. All the snow from yesterday is gone, and we aren’t expecting any precipitation until Thursday. There isn’t even any mention of snow. Temps will be very mild,…
We woke this morning to a bit of a shock. Everything was white! I knew that we were expecting some snow, but I didn’t expect much ground cover. We have about an inch and the snow showers should be ending soon. In fact, the sun is now shining and forecasts call for the snow to end by noon. Highs today won’t even reach the 40s, so I’m not sure how long this snow will last. Our 10:45 AM temperature is…
It has been a dreary, chilly day on our last day on Eastern Standard Time. Showers moved in yesterday around 1 PM, and continued well into the overnight. There was 0.71″ in my gauge this morning. Tomorrow we jump ahead one hour and it will take me about a month to readjust to the time change. I hate it! They have been talking about getting rid of DST for at least 10 years now but it never happens. I’ve given…
Radar is showing a large rain mass heading our way, and it is moving quite slowly. I anticipate that it will be here in another hour or so, and that it will last most of our day. Temperatures will continue to be mild today, then another cold front moves in and will last through the weekend. Once again, like the past few weeks, highs will reach into the 60s by mid week. I’m hearing that temperatures will continue to be…
We should see highs in the 50s today once the sun comes out. But for now, we have nothing but clouds. We could see some rain tomorrow and Saturday, and temperatures will remain on the cool side. Regardless, our highs will still reach above average for this time of year. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 73%, and skies are overcast. Winds are from the east at 4-6 mph, and the pressure is 30.08 in (1018.6…
Our morning began with temperatures in the upper 30s, and a little fog. We continue to have cloudy skies but it is supposed to become partly cloudy this afternoon. Our temps won’t get very warm but still above average. Another warmup will come at the end of the week and will bring more rain. I’m hearing that the remainder of this month will bring more normal temperatures so spring weather isn’t here yet. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 40°F (4°C),…
