We received just enough snow to turn the ground white, about quarter of an inch. It does seem brighter out his morning even with the clouds. Our forecast is calling for a little sun later and that will probably melt most of the snow. We were under a freezing rain advisory Tuesday although freezing mist was what we got. It began late in the morning and continued most of the day. Many of the schools are closed today and areas just to our north received more rain than we did. There wasn’t even enough in the gauge to measure. This morning began with plenty of sun and temperatures in the low teens. We now have a little cloud cover and temperatures have moderated a bit. Winter Storm Gia is moving eastward and will be affecting the nation’s capitol today. The southwest portions of our state received up to 3 inches in various places but nothing here in Mid-Michigan. Our local meteorologist was talking about our lack of snow since November. It has certainly been unusually dry since then with just trace amounts of snow lately. October and November brought more snow than what we usually see during those months, and everyone was afraid that it was a sign of things to come. Yesterday saw highs in the 50s once again with intermittent rain showers in my area. Winds were the big issue with gusts reaching 50 mph in some areas.
