There has been no rain here since June 28 and we see no chance of rain until next Monday. We were hoping for our lawn to dry up a bit, but this is getting excessive. I love the sunshine and warm temps and my tomatoes do too. Gotta say that this weather is great for the gardens even though we must manually keep them watered. Oh well, it is what it is and we’ll get by. A few places have…
Our last rainfall was on June 28 when we received a little over half an inch of rain. Since then, not a drop. These extreme hot temperatures really exacerbate the dry conditions. Today is again expected to reach 90° and no rain is in the forecast until Friday, and only a slight chance at that . These past few days have been exceptional with clear skies, warm temperatures and low humidity. The weather has been great for outdoor lovers but…
This area hasn’t had a good rain in over a week now, and with the excessive heat, we are badly in need of rain. But with this wonderful weather, it’s really hard to complain. Yesterday was a perfect weather day with comfortable temps, clear skies, and just enough breeze to keep the house comfortable with the windows open. It was perfect. Today will be much the same only temperatures will be a little warmer but still comfortable. We got out…
It is such a relief to walk outdoors this morning. Temps are in the mid 60s and it doesn’t feel like a sauna. Today could be a perfect day weather-wise. In fact, this whole weekend could be. Unfortunately it isn’t going to last as temps in the 90s will be back again next week. They predicted a hot, dry summer for us and I was hoping that they were wrong. A few areas did get some rain yesterday but it…
July 4th brought some folks a little rain and in some cases, a lot of rain. We, however, received none. Most were small pop up storms which formed late in the afternoon but most were over in time for fireworks. Our lawn is really getting dry but at least it stopped growing. Thunderstorms are in the forecast for today and cumulus clouds are already forming and moving quickly from the west. Winds have also picked up since an hour ago…
Our morning is beginning with hot, humid conditions and it is promising to be uncomfortable for those planning outdoor activities. As for me, I don’t plan to be outdoors much today. We really don’t have any plans since the holiday is falling mid week, so my kids won’t be coming this year. We could see a few pop up storms this afternoon, but the chance of that is minimal. No cooler weather is expected until the weekend. Our 10:15 AM…
Today should bring some relief from the hot, humid air that we have been dealing with over the weekend. Although highs will remain in the 80s, the humidity should be less as well as the dew point. i have some gardening to do so I should get at it before this afternoon. Our 10:30 AM temp is 80°F (27°C), the humidity is 60%, and skies are partly cloudy. The dew point is 64°F (18°C) and winds are from the west…
I didn’t stick my head outdoors much yesterday and when I did, the heat was stifling. I need to get out and do some work in my flower gardens but it won’t happen as long as this heat continues. It doesn’t look like we’ll get any break the rest of this week, and I haven’t heard any predictions for next week either. I wish our highs would stick around the 80° mark. That’s perfect in my book. Our 9:30 AM…
What can be said about this weather except we complained back in April that we didn’t think that summer would ever come. Now it’s too hot. A heat advisory is in effect for most of the upcoming week, and many places will see highs in the triple digits today. For us, the heat index will be that high but not the actual temperature. To make it worse, the humidity and dew points will also be at very uncomfortable levels. This…
Looking at the radar this morning, it appears that the southern half of the state is getting doused. Here in Topinabee, we have nice temperatures and plenty of sun. The rain forecast that we had earlier this week has been changed and I’m happy about that. Today was supposed to be cloudy but it hasn’t been so far. Rain has been totally dropped from the forecast but we could see fog over the next several mornings. We are going to…
