This morning is tranquil but that is expected to change as the day goes on. The remnants of Tropical Storm Alberto will be moving in over us late today and early tomorrow. We aren’t expecting anything severe but we could see some thunderstorms and heavy rains with them. We had a beautiful full moon the past two nights and we sat out and enjoyed it. Temperatures were very warm and the mosquitoes haven’t been too bad yet. With all the…
Our weather has felt like mid July with highs in the the low 90s the past few days. Today should be a little cooler but still 15-20 degrees above the average; much cooler temps are expected by week’s end. The remnants of Alberto will be visiting us by mid week although there is nothing severe expected. We should have temperatures back in the normal range by next weekend. For those who were hoping for summer weather over the holiday weekend,…
Yesterday was lovely but more severe storms developed in the late afternoon over the central areas of the state. They moved to our northeast and we were not affected. My kids are here for the weekend and we had a campfire late last night. It was a beautiful night with temps in the mid 60s, a bright moon, and no breeze. Highs today will reach the low 90s and it is already a very warm morning. Our 9:30 AM temp…
Yesterday was a beautiful day but a rogue thunderstorm moved in shortly after 10 PM last night. It was a small cell which came from the NNW dumping 1.19 inches on us along with a lot of lightning. We were under a severe thunderstorm warning for about half and hour but there was no strong wind or hail. The lightning was frequent but no strikes close by. The Saginaw and Midland areas reported some damage but the storm mellowed quite…
If we didn’t break a record yesterday, then we came very close. The official high was in the upper 80s but my thermometer, and the one in our car said 90°F. There were some showers and thundershowers that made their way across the state last night, but they totally missed my area which is fine. Our lawn is still saturated from the last round of rain that we had earlier this week. We continue to have a chance of rain …
After a very warm Thursday, today is expected to be even warmer with highs in the upper 80s. The past two days have been wonderful with clear skies and low humidity. A change will be coming with thunderstorms in the forecast for the weekend, however it won’t be a total washout and temperatures will remain very warm. Our 8:45 AM temp is 70°F (21°C), the humidity is 53%, and skies are clear. Winds are from the southwest at 3 mph…
This morning is just lovely! I can’t say anything more than that. This weather will persist over the next several days but more rain is expected for our holiday weekend. At least it doesn’t sound like it will be a total washout and temperatures will be very warm. I’m happy with that. Our 10:30 AM temp is 66°F (19°C), the humidity is 64%, and skies are clear. The rising pressure is 30.20 in (1022.4 mb) and winds are from the…
This has been a very wet month so far, and temperatures seem to have a very hard time warming up. Although the upper 60s are considered to be normal for mid to late May, it seems to me that it is usually much warmer by this time of year. At any rate, the next few days are expected to be nice. Unfortunately, there is more rain in the forecast for the holiday weekend. I haven’t been doing very well with…
It will not be a very nice day for outdoor activities although I guess it could be worse. Highs will only make it into the low 60s and there will not be much sun. Yesterday brought us a little rain but there was only 0.06″ in my gauge this morning. Most was intermittent sprinkles and mist, just enough to make it miserable. I’m wishing that it would warm up and stays that way. Our 10:30 AM temp is 58°F (15°C),…
It is wet and dreary this morning but everything looks so green. It is quite a contrast from a few weeks ago. Today will see off-and-on rain showers with a few thundershowers thrown in for good measure. We received 0.31 in overnight and light rain continues at this time. Our 8:30 AM temperature is 58°F (15°C), the humidity is 93% and skies are cloudy with light rain. Winds are from the SE at 5 mph and the pressure is 29.90…
