We were under a winter storm warning most of yesterday as rain and freezing rain continued. The first warning expired at noon, then another was issued later in the day. I couldn’t understand the reason for the second one since there was nothing happening or nothing showing on radar. For us, the storm wasn’t as bad as predicted. We never did get the strong winds that they had near the western shorelines of the state, and most of the precip was rain and sleet. I heard that the Mackinaw Bridge is closed due to 50 mph winds. It is misting out now and freezing but the sleet cover is keeping it from being that slippery. We had a very mild night which will be followed by a very warm Thursday. Our highs could reach the mid to upper 60s for a change but unfortunately it won’t last. Our Sunday is beginning with clear skies, light winds but very cool temperatures. This is expected to continue until Wednesday when our high temp should finally be in the normal range.
