It is looking like a beautiful morning with temperatures that almost feel balmy. We still have about 10 inches of snow cover but that should diminish over the next few days. We did lose a little yesterday with the sun shining most of the day, and that will continue today and tomorrow with highs expected in the 40s. We now have about 14 inches of snow cover with the additional 4 inches that we received overnight . . . . and it’s still coming down. It seems like it will never end. The plow came down our road late yesterday, but now we have more to remove. The forecast is calling for an end around 4 pm and I’m hoping that it will be sooner. This is the most snow that we have had in about 5 years….
Although the big snow is over, we will continue to see a little more accumulations through tomorrow. It stopped snowing about 4 PM yesterday afternoon but we are having light flurries right now. Winter storm watches and warnings are already in effect for southern portions of the state. Computer models seem to disagree as to how much we will actually get. It ranges anywhere from 3 to 10 inches, the heaviest affecting southern most Michigan. As luck would have it, I have to work Friday night. We had intermittent snow showers all day Sunday creating almost whiteout conditions at times. What’s worse is that we have several more systems coming later this week. With our present snow cover down to about 50%, that will change by tomorrow. There is another snow system that will bring 3-6 inches to our area.
