Wet, Icy, Miserable Morning In Mid Michigan

My son, who lives in the Detroit area, reported very icy, slippery conditions when he had to leave for work early this morning.  I’m not sure what it was like here because my deck was only wet and the snow was very slushy when I got up at 8 AM.  I know that we had freezing drizzle for a while but I’m not sure how long it lasted.  Today will be the only relief we get from the frigid weather.  Another polar air mass will be over us once again in the next few days.  It is raining at this time and there was 0.38 in of melted precip in my gauge this morning.

Our 9 AM temperature is 33.4°F (1°C), the humidity is 97% and we have light rain,.  Winds are from the SE at 8 mph and the pressure is 29.73 in (1006.8 mb) and falling.  The dew point is 35°F (2°C) and visibility is 5 miles.   Average temps for this date are 27°F / 14°F.  Sunrise was at 7:59 AM and sunset will be at 5:36 PM.
