A Mix Of Sun And Clouds For Our Saturday – Mid Michigan

A Mix Of Sun And Clouds For Our Saturday – Mid Michigan

Today is much colder than what we have been used to lately, and strong winds are adding to the mix.  We had showers overnight which left another 0.31″ of rain, but then ended early.  Since then, we have had clear skies with periods of clouds.  It is very windy and that makes it feel even colder.  But we must expect that this time of year.  After all, it is the middle of October and many leaves are falling without much…

Wet Weather Returns For Mid Michigan

Wet Weather Returns For Mid Michigan

Yesterday was pleasant and rain free until the late afternoon.  A line of thunderstorms developed and moved over us giving us 0.17″ of rain.  After that, there was partial clearing which resulted in a beautiful, bright orange sunset.  More showers came overnight and continued through most of this morning.  Right now, the rain has stopped but clouds persist.  Temperatures are near normal for this date and they are expected to remain so most of this upcoming week. Our 3 PM…

storms to Our North And West Totally Missed Us – Mid Michigan

storms to Our North And West Totally Missed Us – Mid Michigan

After an absolutely beautiful Monday, clouds moved in late and storms affected the western portions of the state.  We got almost nothing as they moved in a northern direction.  Severe storm warnings were issued for a while but I haven’t heard of a lot of damage being done.  As for us, there was only 0:03″ in my gauge this morning.  We had clear skies to start the day but it is now overcast and looking like rain.  Radar, however, is…

Possible Severe Weather Heading Our Way – Mid Michigan

Possible Severe Weather Heading Our Way – Mid Michigan

We are being warned that our weather could get pretty rough tonight and early tomorrow.  Right now, our skies are clear but it is quite windy.  Oklahoma got hit pretty hard yesterday but I haven’t heard how much damage was done.  Hopefully, we are spared tonight.  Our temperatures were very warm overnight and highs today are expected to reach the low to mid 80s.  We turned on the AC and this is the first time I ever remember doing that…

A Pleasant Sunday Afternoon in Mid Michigan

A Pleasant Sunday Afternoon in Mid Michigan

We had some light rain overnight which left 0.02″ in my rain gauge.  Temperatures were warm all night and even with the windows open, it wasn’t very chilly in the house this morning.  Highs today are expected to be in the mid 70s, and it’s almost there now.  Breezes are light and it’s just a very nice day.  The sky is mostly cloud covered, but we see the sun peeking out occasionally.  We could see more rain tonight.  Since I…

More Rain Coming For Mid Michigan

More Rain Coming For Mid Michigan

Yesterday was mostly wet with multiple showers and thunderstorms passing us by.  We got one cloud burst in the afternoon, and then a thunder shower during the evening.  We received 0.33 inches of rain from both, but some areas in Oakland County got 3-4 inches.  There was a flash flood warning for them briefly.  At least there were no severe storms  this time.  We still have rain in our forecast for this afternoon and tonight.  We had fog early this…

Intermittent Showers For Our Friday – Mid Michigan

Intermittent Showers For Our Friday – Mid Michigan

Today began with clouds, fog, and rain.  There is a low pressure center sitting over Lake Michigan producing this rainy weather, although we are still hanging on to much-above normal temperatures.  It seems like a day in early September rather than October.  We have received 0.28″ of rain since 8:30 yesterday morning and it looks like this will be the order of the day.  I’m hearing that temperatures could reach 80F by Sunday.  I wouldn’t complain if this lasted all…

Cloudy But Mild – Mid Michigan

Cloudy But Mild – Mid Michigan

Today is gloomy and damp with some light fog.  Scattered showers are appearing on radar but we haven’t had any rain yet.  If we do get some, I don’t think it will be much.  We really don’t need any but Mother Nature doesn’t seem to care.  Our highs remain much above normal and will continue over the next week or so.  I think that we’ll be paying for this very soon. Our 3 PM temperature is 69°F (21°C), the humidity…

A Rainy Monday In Mid Michigan

A Rainy Monday In Mid Michigan

This has been a dark and gloomy, wet day since the beginning.  The rain has been intermittent but with the humidity and high dew point, the air feels very wet even when the rain isn’t falling.  There were scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, and a tornado warning was even issued during the late afternoon for the Clarkston – Holly area.  No tornadoes were spotted however.  Forecasts called for an end to the rain this afternoon but I’m not seeing…

Intermittent Rain Showers For Our Sunday – Mid Michigan

Intermittent Rain Showers For Our Sunday – Mid Michigan

Rain developed late last night and has continued through our morning.  There was 0.08″ in my gauge at 8:30 and we have received another 0.01″ since then.  The sky looks quite threatening but isn’t producing much precipitation.  Intermittent sprinkles seems to be all it can do.  We really don’t need anymore rain and the sun has peeked out a few times.  This is expected to continue into tomorrow with highs in the low 70s most of the week.  There is…
