Mid Michigan Weather

NOAA has come out with their predictions for this upcoming winter, and if I’m reading it right, our winter doesn’t look too bad.  Of course, we all know how these long-term predictions go.  They can change at a moment’s notice, especially here in Michigan.  But today has been wonderful in spite of a cold wind.  Originally, there was just a slight chance of rain through the weekend so I got my car washed.  Now they’ve increased our rain chances for…

The past two days have been very windy and today should be the last blustery day.  The cold front has moved through, and even though highs will only be in the low 40s, that will seem warmer than the 50s with 30 mph winds.  Our morning is beginning with clouds and the winds have just picked up over the past hour.  This upcoming week is expected to be cold but dry.  There are a few days where highs will reach…

Once again, we have strong winds with gusts up to 30 mph; so even though it looks nice, it isn’t very pleasant being outdoors . . . . and forget combing your hair!  But it is what it is and I’m thankful for a sunny day.  The winds will continue into tomorrow   Our local Meteorologist, Mark Toragrossa is already talking about an Alberta Clipper heading our way and that’s not good news.  Isn’t it too early for us to be…

Yesterday was a bit warmer than what was predicted and it turned out to be a beautiful day.  Today looks to be wet although the radar is showing most of the rain to be almost past us.  Temperatures all this week will be in the 40s with highs in the low 50s a few day. Right now (8:45 AM), our temp is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 94% and skies are overcast with drizzle.  The pressure is 29.90 in (1012.5…

Yesterday wasn’t very pleasant, especially if one had to be outdoors.  Temperatures continued to fall throughout the day and blustery winds added to the mess.  Today will be even colder but the winds won’t be nearly as brisk.  Looking ahead for next week, I see snow in the forecast for Tuesday . . . .nothing major, but snow none the less.  As long as we don’t have to shovel, I really don’t mind.  I’m not seeing any significant warmups, although…

What a difference a day makes.  We went from July weather to November weather in just a few days, but that isn’t unusual for Michigan.  I had my windows open most of the night but today will only see highs in the 50s along with strong winds.  We received 0.37 in of rain yesterday and rain isn’t in the forecast for today.  We could even see a little sun later on. Our 9:15 AM temperature is 50°F (10°C), the humidity…

The past two days were very warm and dry, but today will see the end of it.  Our temperatures are still in the 70s but they will be dropping the remainder of the day after another cold front goes through.  We are starting to get a few sprinkles but the heavy rain is showing on radar and heading our way.   This is expected to continue through tonight.  Tomorrow will be dryer but about 20°F colder . I’m sitting here watching…

We could see highs nearing 80° this afternoon and I’m thinking that this will be it for our very warm temperatures.  Yesterday was cold and wet leaving 0.02″ in my rain gauge.  There is a lot of rain showing on the radar this morning but it is passing to our northwest and it doesn’t appear that any will reach us.  That’s fine with me.  The colors in my area are becoming more vibrant but peak colors should be this upcoming…

Although we did get a few glimpses of the sun yesterday, most of it was gloomy with drizzle.  We had a thunder shower early in the morning but it didn’t last long and the thunder was distant.  There is only 0.09″ in my gauge this morning.  I noticed on CoCoRahs that most areas received a lot more rain than we did.  We do have a rising barometer and I’m hoping that we see a little more sun today. Our 9:45…

Radar is showing a mass of rain heading our way from the southwest.  We have a little thunder but mostly just heavy rain.  I was lucky to get the dogs out before it began because it looks like it will last a while.  Yesterday was cloudy and misty without much let up through the day.  The only good thing is that temperatures will be very warm, but that doesn’t mean much if it’s raining. Our 9:30 AM temp is 60°F…
