Although we have mild temperatures, visibility is down to less than a mile We are expecting a period of near normal temps over the next week, and that’s a relief from what we have had. Yesterday warmed up to near 50° for most areas and there was quite a bit of sun. It was a very pleasant day. All of our snow is gone except for where the snow piles are and they continue to melt away. There are still…
Our snow pack is now down to about an inch with the snow cover at about 50%. It’s slowly melting away and I’m not missing it. There are no storms expected anytime soon and temperatures will recover to closer to normal this week. This morning started out with a little sun but it didn’t last long. I don’t think we will see much sun today. Our 9:30 AM temp is 35°F (2°C), the humidity is 80% and skies are overcast. …
Our morning is beginning with plenty of sun and fairly mild temperatures. We should see highs today near 40° and that will be a nice change from what we have had. We continue to lose small amounts of snow everyday and our snow cover is now down to about an inch. This week is expected to bring milder temps but still below what we should be having for this date. I’m starting to see an increase in Christmas decor as…
Today seems almost balmy compared to what we have had. Temperatures are above freezing and the snow is melting. I took measurements this morning and our snow cover is down to 2.3 inches. I’m surprised that we lost that much already. It doesn’t seem like it was that warm the past few days. Right now the sun is shining and it looks very pleasant out there. Temperatures are in the upper 30s but that’s still below where it should be…
Our January-type weather continues with temperatures expected to be a little warmer today, but still no where near close to average. There are some 40 degree days coming but even that is colder than average for this date. I’m still optimistic in thinking that we will see Indian Summer happening over the next few weeks. I’m probably wrong, but I can dream, can’t I? Our 10 AM temperature is 29°F (-2°C), the humidity is 90% and skies are cloudy. Winds…
All weather records were broken yesterday. How often does that happen? We broke the record for total snow amounts for the date, for the coldest high temperature for that date, and the lowest cold temperature for the date. How about that? Today seems tranquil although we could see a little more accumulations tonight. Our snow pack is 6.5 inches and none is expected to melt over the next few days. At least we didn’t get the large amounts that they…
It snowed all day yesterday leaving about 7 inches on the ground. The thumb area of the state got 12 or more inches. I hope that this isn’t a sign of how our winter is going to be. They did predict a snowy winter for this part of the country but it isn’t even winter yet. What’s worse is that temperatures will take a nose dive over the next few days with overnight lows falling into the single digits. My…
We woke to about 2 inches of snow cover and it’s still coming down. I’m hearing that we could get as much as 6 inches by the time it’s over. A winter weather advisory is in effect until midnight. I guess winter is really here. At least I don’t have to drive to work in it anymore Our 9:30 AM temperature is 28.6°F (-2°C), the humidity is 92% and the pressure is 30.17 in and falling. Skies are overcast with…
One would think that it is January as cold as it is. I keep waiting for Indian Summer but I don’t think that it will happen anytime soon. What’s worse is that it’s supposed to be even colder next week, with highs only in the 20s. On the positive side, we have bright sunshine today which makes it more bearable. We are finishing cleaning up the yard and putting the rest of the lawn furniture away. The middle portions of…
This morning feels more like mid December rather than early November. Temps were only in the 20s when I got up this morning and highs aren’t expected to reach any higher than 40° if even that high. A mix of rain and snow is in the forecast with up to 2 inches possible to our north. What’s worse is that there is no reprieve from this anytime soon. Our 10:30 AM temperature is 35°F (2°C), the humidity is 78%, and…
