We have a sunny morning but it isn’t expected to last. Clouds will move in this afternoon but temperatures should reach the low 50s with light winds. That sounds like a pretty nice day to me. We are expecting no precip until the weekend but they aren’t saying whether it will be rain or snow. We are in the process of getting a new truck with 4-wheel drive. I love our Fusion but it is terrible in snow. Our new…
Most of my flowers are dead but the mums and snapdragons are still hanging on. It’s time to start cleaning out the gardens and get ready for winter. It seems to be coming early this year since we have had below-normal temperatures most of October. The colors haven’t been very bright either especially the reds. Everyone’s burning bushes are quite brilliant but mine are still mostly green. I’m hoping for more 60 degree weather before our first snow cover. Indian…
Our morning is beginning with light breezes and clear skies, but our forecast is calling for yet another cold front moving in and giving us clouds and more wind. What an October this has been. We can only hope that November is better but I’m not really expecting it. Yesterday was really nice with clear skies all day, light breezes and a high near 60°F. That’s the way October in Michigan should be. Our 9:45 AM temperature is 44°F (7°C),…
Today will be one of the warmest days that we’ll have this week with highs expected in the mid 50s. Then another cold front will descend on us from Canada and highs will only reach the 40s. This entire month has been cold, more like November than October, but at least the rain seems to be over for awhile. Maybe I can get some yard work done today, and we should start getting our outdoor furniture put away for the…
Yesterday was one of those days where we had all of our seasons mixed into one. We began the day with sun, then the clouds rolled in, and soon it started to rain. At first it was just a shower, then it intensified and strong winds knocked our power out. One gust had to be about 50 mph. The Michigan-Michigan State game was delayed for over an hour because of the storm. Then we had a short time with no…
This Saturday morning is beautiful with clear skies and fairly mild temperatures. Unfortunately, the forecast for later today isn’t as nice. That “S” word is even in the forecast but no real accumulations are expected. Temps are expected to drop the remainder of the day so our present temp is probably our high. I took my doggies out so about half an hour but with the chilly wind, they didn’t want to stay out that long. Our 11 AM temperature…
NOAA has come out with their predictions for this upcoming winter, and if I’m reading it right, our winter doesn’t look too bad. Of course, we all know how these long-term predictions go. They can change at a moment’s notice, especially here in Michigan. But today has been wonderful in spite of a cold wind. Originally, there was just a slight chance of rain through the weekend so I got my car washed. Now they’ve increased our rain chances for…
The past two days have been very windy and today should be the last blustery day. The cold front has moved through, and even though highs will only be in the low 40s, that will seem warmer than the 50s with 30 mph winds. Our morning is beginning with clouds and the winds have just picked up over the past hour. This upcoming week is expected to be cold but dry. There are a few days where highs will reach…
Once again, we have strong winds with gusts up to 30 mph; so even though it looks nice, it isn’t very pleasant being outdoors . . . . and forget combing your hair! But it is what it is and I’m thankful for a sunny day. The winds will continue into tomorrow Our local Meteorologist, Mark Toragrossa is already talking about an Alberta Clipper heading our way and that’s not good news. Isn’t it too early for us to be…
Yesterday was a bit warmer than what was predicted and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Today looks to be wet although the radar is showing most of the rain to be almost past us. Temperatures all this week will be in the 40s with highs in the low 50s a few day. Right now (8:45 AM), our temp is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 94% and skies are overcast with drizzle. The pressure is 29.90 in (1012.5…
