Yesterday was a very rare day for January here in Michigan. For the entire day, there wasn’t one cloud in the skiy. We didn’t see any until almost dark. Unfortunately, the wind was unbearably strong with gusts reaching 30 mph at times. Temperatures weren’t that warm either, so being outdoors, even with the sun, wasn’t that pleasant. We received a slight amount of snow late yesterday, after a day of mist which coated everything in a light cover of ice early in the day. We had a light covering of ice this morning on my deck when I let the dog out, but there was nothing in my rain gauge. I could feel a light mist on my face but nothing showing on the radar. After a mostly sunny day yesterday, clouds have moved in and I don’t expect to see much of the sun today. Regardless, temperatures remain above normal and the year is getting off to a mild start. After a very wet Sunday, today will be dryer but with very strong winds. A wind advisory is in effect until 4 PM and we could see gusts as high as 45 mph. Yesterday’s story of the day was the fog.
