Yesterday brought more heavy rain to the same areas that were affected by Tuesday’s storms. We sat out last night watching the lightning as it passed to our northwest. Yesterday was quite tranquil until late afternoon. We then began to see storms develop with even a tornado warning in the Jackson area. I haven’t heard of any damage or actual tornadoes however. We had a couple of thunderstorms move through early this morning giving us total of 0.54″ of precip for the day. Thousands are still without power in northern lower Michigan after severe storms moved through the state on Tuesday night. At least 4 tornadoes have been confirmed and much straight line wind damage in the mid sections of the state. The above picture is from an EF2 tornado which struck in Lapeer. Last night was very stormy in Michigan with many cleaning up the damage this morning. Fortunately, all we got was heavy rain and a lot of thunder. Being outdoors today is very uncomfortable. If not for the breeze, it would be unbearable, at least for me. We have had mostly cloudy skies so far but no rain. I woke to see a large rain cell on radar approaching my area and my first thought was to get the dogs out before it started raining.
