Cloudy and Damp After Tuesday’s Rain – Mid Michigan

Cloudy and Damp After Tuesday’s Rain – Mid Michigan

This morning is starting out damp and cloudy but the sun is expected to make a showing later this afternoon.  Temperatures could reach near the 50 mark, so it should be a lovely afternoon.  Unfortunately, it isn’t going to last through our Easter weekend.  And to make things worse, our first week of April is expected to bring more winter weather including some accumulating snow.  Winter just doesn’t’ want to let go this year. Our 9:15 AM temp is 39°F…

Some Much Needed Rain For Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

Some Much Needed Rain For Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

We have finally received some rain although we could use much more.  There was 0.21″ in my gauge at 8 AM and it is still sprinkling.  Radar is showing much more to come.  This week will see above average temperatures, then cooling off once again for Easter weekend.  There is even the possibility of snow or rain/snow mix, something that most of us don’t want to hear. Our 9 AM temp is 42°F (5°C),  the humidity is 88%, and skies…

Finally, Some Much Needed Rain Expected Tonight – Mid Michigan

Finally, Some Much Needed Rain Expected Tonight – Mid Michigan

We should enjoy today because the remainder of the week doesn’t sound so good.  We should reach the 50s this afternoon but there will still be a brisk wind from the southeast.  Then rain will move in tonight.  Looking ahead to Easter weekend, it doesn’t look too promising with highs only in the 40s and a rain/snow mix is possible.  I’m hoping that the forecast changes by then. Our 9:15 AM temperature is 37°F (3°C),  The humidity is 81%, and…

A Sunny Palm Sunday for Mid Michigan

A Sunny Palm Sunday for Mid Michigan

Looking out my window, I see a beautiful day with plenty of sun.  Unfortunately, we continue to have a strong wind blowing from the east and it is cold!    Things are supposed to improve next week with highs in the 50s finally.  There is also rain expected but that’s okay.  We really do need some rain.  Although the snow is finally gone, our lawns are brown and dead looking.  It’s hard to believe that next week is Easter already and…

Our Dry Spring Continues in Mid Michigan

Our Dry Spring Continues in Mid Michigan

This has been a very dry month for us and burn bans have now been issued.  We haven’t had any rain since the first week of March, and none is expected until possibly Tuesday.  I’m in the mood for a good thunderstorm to green things up a bit.  The lawn is brown and dead-looking and it’s time for nature to start waking up. Our 9:15 AM temp is 26°F (-3°C), the humidity is 68%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds…

Getting Rather Dry in Mid Michigan

Getting Rather Dry in Mid Michigan

It seems a bit strange to have such an extended period of dry weather at this time of the year here in Michigan.  This is usually our rainy/stormy time of year.  There isn’t any rain in the forecast until next Tuesday and that’s only a 50% chance at that.  Seeing what is going on in the east, we have been very lucky. Our 9:15 AM temp is 27°F (-2°C), the humidity is 71%, and winds are from the NW at…

Clear Skies But Continued Below Normal Temps – Mid Michigan

Clear Skies But Continued Below Normal Temps – Mid Michigan

This morning is very chilly with temps in the teens.  We did have a lovely sunrise which compensates a bit, but it would certainly be nice for warmer weather to arrive.  Our snow is gone except for shady areas and we’re hoping that there will be no more this season. Ou 8:15 AM temp is 19°F (-7°C), the humidity is 70%, and winds are from the NW at 5 mph giving us a wind chill of 14°F (-10°C).  The pressure…

Dry Weather Continues in Mid Michigan

Dry Weather Continues in Mid Michigan

After all the snow that we have had, it seems strange to have clear, dry weather for so many days in a row.  Now the forecast is saying no precip until next Tuesday.  We still have small patches of snow where it is always shady and it doesn’t get quite warm enough to melt.  But, for the most part, we don’t have any snow cover left.  Looking at the CoCoRahs reports this morning, that seems to be true for most…

Continued Cold But At Least No Storms – Mid Michigan

Continued Cold But At Least No Storms – Mid Michigan

While much of the eastern US are reeling from storms of one kind or another, Michigan is quite tranquil but very chilly.  I guess we can’t complain.  Another nor’easter is knocking on the door of the eastern seaboard, and the south has been hit with strong storms and tornadoes.  There is no warm up expected anytime soon for us.  In fact, it could be another 10 days before we’re back to normal temperatures.  As long as these nor’easters continue to…

Below Normal Temps Once Again in Mid Michigan

Below Normal Temps Once Again in Mid Michigan

After a two day reprieve from cooler than normal weather, we once again have to dealing with cool Canadian air.  At least we got rid of the remaining snow and our weather should continue to be dry over the next several days.  Highs are not expected to reach above than the 30s today after our mid 50 degree temps yesterday.  I’m hoping for nice weather on Easter Sunday but that is too far ahead to speculate right now. Our 9:15…
